CASE LAW FIRM, LLC
Case Law Firm, LLC is committed to helping you achieve the best possible legal outcome.
The effects of Covid-19 on our community’s health and wellbeing are real and serious and we know our clients need us to be there for them. Our offices in East Haven and Old Saybrook are open. We are taking all necessary precautions to keep our clients safe while still working to resolve legal issues. We are providing “curbside service” and remote notarization to ensure that no physical contact occurs while executing important estate planning documents. These include your Will, Healthcare Directive, and Power of Attorney. Now is an important time to make sure your estate plan is up to date and properly executed. Additionally, many of our services, including business entity formation, landlord/tenant issues, and family law issues, do not require face to face contact and we are implementing telephonic and other virtual means to hold initial consultations and meetings. We are working within the current limitations imposed by the superior and probate courts to resolve matters, including divorce, family law, estate and probate, and guardianship matters. We are able to work with financial institutions, title insurance companies, and realtors to complete real estate transactions. Please contact us by phone or email and we will work with you to take care of your legal matters.

Do I Need a Prenuptial Agreement?
Until death do us part is the intent; the reality is that half of marriages in Connecticut end in divorce. Recognizing that many marriages do not last a lifetime, a Prenuptial Agreement (commonly referred to as a prenup) can prevent prolonged litigation, and the accompanying rancor, by addressing financial issues while both parties have each other’s best interests at heart. What can I accomplish with a prenup?

Is it Better to Have a Trust or a Will?
The simple answer is that either one will do, depending on your specific circumstances.
The key is to have some form of estate plan. It is essential to have a trust or a will, or a combination of both. Your particular estate plan will depend on your marital status, your plans for your heirs, and the extent of your estate.
Make an estate plan and control your own wealth while protecting your loved ones, instead of leaving it up to the government.

What is the Best Way to Save for My Child's Education?
Why worry? While your child might be a gifted scholar or phenomenal soccer player, the likelihood of getting a sports scholarship or scholastic scholarship to foot the college bill is slim. It is reported that less than 3% of full-time college students receive enough grants and scholarships to cover the full cost of tuition.
The time to plan for paying most or all of your child's education is now.
